Thomas has known Adam since high school, with their friendship forged over countless hours of gaming. They’ve been mates for so long that Thomas knows Adam does something in renewable energy, but at this point, it’s far too late to ask what. When they catch up in the flesh, there’s always bound to be a good feed involved.
Two best men? Is this a mistake? Nope Thomas simply couldn’t choose. Thomas and Hagan have been mates since high school, and Hagan has never failed to make him laugh. Whether that’s intentional or just Hagan being Hagan is still up for debate.
Shockingly, another friendship dating all the way back to high school. Anthony and Thomas bonded over the gym, Pokémon. Any gym session with Anthony usually left Thomas needing a seven day recovery period. A great mate and a loyal friend.
Phillip may technically be Rebecca’s brother, but Thomas considers him a brother too. Their shared love of tech and RuneScape gave them plenty to bond over, and over the years he's become a friend who so happens to be related to Tom's future wife.
Bridesmaids
Britt and Bec met on their first day of uni in 2017, although the connection technically started earlier, with Britt’s mum Jo being one of Bec’s high school teachers. Studying similar degrees and strategically planning classes together, they quickly became inseparable. From living together in a questionable Coburg North share house and acquiring COVID dogs, to a disastrous New Year’s in Paris, Britt has been there through some of Bec’s best and worst moments usually met with dark humour and ABBA to soften the edges. Britt is now completing her PhD in Ballarat, but always makes time for yapping with her homie
Vanessa was Bec’s first friend after moving to "the big smoke" and starting work at Brunswick IGA, where a rotating cast of characters ensured they were trauma bonded for life. Vanessa had a front-row seat to the beginning of Bec and Tom’s relationship, receiving weekly updates between serving customers after their Saturday night Zoom dates. She also gifted Bec the infamous Shrek poster that first caught Tom’s attention- meaning this entire wedding can arguably be traced back to Vanessa and her excellent taste in home décor. A lover of brunch, knick-knacks, board games and all things creative.
Sisters by law, friends by choice. Rebbecca met Bec’s brother Phill back in high school and has been part of the family ever since- long enough that it’s hard to remember a time before she was around. Bec and Bbec spent their awkward teenage years growing up alongside each other through various forms of family chaos, and somewhere along the way the relationship evolved from my brother’s girlfriend to my friend who is married to my brother. Witchy, with a twisted sense of humour, and naturally working in human services, Rebbecca is now officially stuck with Bec as a sister for life, whether she likes it or not.
Tom’s sister and soon-to-be Bec’s sister-in-law, Andrea and Bec share one particularly important passion: beating Tom at games. Together, they make a formidable team whenever the opportunity arises to gang up on him. Andrea has also helped Bec navigate the chaos, traditions and endless food of Mediterranean family life. She has a small zoo of animals, a big heart, and works in education design.
